Forest Management
Management is an integral component of maintaining a healthy and productive forest. Well managed forests can provide places for recreation, increase wildlife usage, and improve productivity of forest products such as timber. Unmanaged forests can become overcrowded and stressed due to competition for resources, allowing easier access for disease and insects. Forests can be managed for specific objectives including economic, ecological, and aesthetics. Different management techniques can be used by land managers depending on their objective for the forest.
